What is the Tilde MT API?

It’s a translation service you can connect your website, app or professional CAT tool to or workflow to translate text, documents, and images automatically without building or maintaining your own translation infrastructure.

The following file formats with a maximum file size of 25MB are supported:

.docx, .doc, .docm, .xlsx, .pptx, .pdf, .odt, .odp, .ods, .txt, .rtf, .pages, .sxw, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .sdlxliff, .sdlxlf, .ttx, .tmx, .xlf, .xlif, .xliff, .html, .htm, .json, .xhtml, .xht, .tex, .srt. 

In most cases, yes. The Tilde MT API extracts text from documents (and uses OCR for scanned files or images) and returns a translated file that typically preserves the original structure and formatting. For complex layouts, results may vary.

Your content is handled with strong security practices, encryption is used and translation data is not stored, analysed or used for model training. It’s deleted after you receive the translation.
